Grant Writing/Management

Including employment with institutions, I have raised in excess of $1.5 million through grantwriting and am a nimble guide in the grants world. My work has included lead responsibility on complex submissions to the USDA, NEA, a wide range of state funders, and private foundations.

Some recent successful projects of mine have included:

•   A federal application to the National Endowment for the Arts for the design of a multi-disciplinary center and community mapping plan focused upon arts, heritage, and agriculture, all focused in a town of 1300 residents.

•   A significant biotech agribusiness proposal working with USDA’s Value Added Producer Grant program creating additional revenue channels for a prominent agricultural producer.

•   A dynamic prototype program fusing the arts and language engagement with Spanish immersion programming in the Sioux Falls, SD School District.

Nonprofit Admin/Development

My fundraising background is focused, in-depth, and practical, while being reinforced by rigorous study and training in the Masters’ program of Indiana University’s O’neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

I also hold a Certificate of Achievement of Principles & Techniques of Fundraising from the Fundraising School in Indiana University’s Lilly School of Philanthropy.
